Some quick ways to replace a few liquid or gel products

I have links to powders for those of you travelling during the ban on liquids and gels. Tooth powders, hair powders, and single-use tablets for handsoaps so you don't have a soggy bar of soap in your pocket. See http://del.icio.us/philip/liquidFree for a few links and tips on making your own if the need arises and mood inspires.

CNNMoney has a page dated today on the current status of what you can bring on-board in the US and UK, along with a very brief mention of what the economic effects appear to be. There is also mention of a couple of luggage delivery services you can use.

ReasonOnline has an article called "Don't be terrorized." It goes into details on the odds of being hit by lightning, run over by a car, and such, compared with hypotheticals of a terrorist attack bringing down a plane a week or blowing up a shopping mall a week. The odds are staggeringly against being killed by a terrorist, as I mentioned yesterday. The issue is our comfort with common risks that we've grown to know and love - well, accept maybe. More people are murdered by friends and family in America than are murdered by terrorists. C'est la vie, as we Americans are wont to say.
